A motorcyclist was killed after a lorry hit his motorcycle in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as ATM Mutakabbir Hossain, 42, a contractor living in Chandrima model town in Mohammadpur.

The lorry hit the motorcycle on which Mutakabbir was riding to return home after work at the opposite of Gono Bhaban around 1:00am, leaving him critically injured, said Sub-inspector Shahidul Islam of Mohammadpur Police Station.

Mutakabbir was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 4:00am.

The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
