Tigers to get two-week break

Bangladesh cricketers will get a two-week break after the ongoing home series against Australia, scheduled to end on Monday, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Saturday.

The players, coaches and supporting staff have been in the bio-bubble for the last 41 days considering they didn’t have the chance to come out from the bubble since their full-fledged series against Zimbabwe.

“They will get a break and it’s very necessary,” BCB Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin told reporters.

“They will again enter the bio-bubble when the Kiwis will arrive for the five-match T20I series,” he added.

Bangladesh will host New Zealand for a five-match T20I series in September where the two teams will use the series as part of their preparations for the ICC World T20 which will take place in UAE and Oman on October-November.

New Zealand will arrive in Dhaka on August 24 according to the itinerary released by BCB.

The visitors will play a warm-up game on August 29 at the BKSP before taking on the hosts in the opening game of the series on September 1.

The series will conclude on September 10 while all five matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
