* Militant groups trying to reorganise
*So-called Islamic orators motivating people to join militancy
The militant outfit Neo-JMB is yet to be declared ban officially though it was discovered about six years back.
The organisation is revamping its strength, said sources in police. It is providing special trainings to its members for making powerful bombs to carry out subversive activities. The outfit has already got its new 20-membercommittee too.
On the other hand, some Islamic orators are inspiring people to militancy through their speeches.
The Islamic speakers are under the scanner of law enforcers. Lawmen have already arrested three suck speakers—Maulana Amir Hamza, Maulana Ali Hasan Osama and Maulana Mahmudul Hasan Gunobi from different parts of the country. Of them, Gunobi and Osama are the spiritual leaders of Ansar Al Islam, also known as Ansarullah Bangla Team.
On the ban of Neo-JMB, Aslam Khan, superintendent of police (Media and Awareness) of Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police, told the Daily Sun that he was totally unaware of the matter as it was the matter of the upper level.
Md Asaduzzaman, additional commissioner (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, did not make any comment on the ban of the outfit.
Political and ICT section under Public Security Division of the Home Ministry sees the matter of banning any organisation.
When contacted, GSM Jafarullah, additional secretary (Political and ICT) of the Public Security Division, told the Daily Sun that he had no information on the ban of the outfit.
“Actually, I do not know the information as I joined on the post recently,” he said.
Wishing not to be named, a deputy commissioner of the DMP said, “The members of Neo-JMB are now in the field with aggressive attitude that they may carry out destructive acts at any place.”
Mahadi Hasan Jon in the name of Abu Abbas Al Bangali from Turkey is giving trainings to the members of the racket to make bombs, the officer said.
Forkan, who passed from Chemistry Department at public university, is the main bomb making technician in Bangladesh while another Sabbir Hossain is working as his associate, the officer said.
The officer added that Mahadi Hasan Jon planned to train the members of the Neo-JMB in Pakistan with setting up a firearm making factory in Bangladesh.
After the attack in Holey Artisan Bakery on July 1, 2016, the Neo-JMB came to the fore. After that, law enforcers conducted a big number of drives and killed its senior leaders, including Tamim Chowdhury.
After that, the outfit became weak, but now it is trying to revamp, said sources in the CTTC.
When the Neo-JMB is trying to reorganise, the Ansar Al Islam is also trying to be so through recruiting new members through social media.
A number of the Islamic orators are helping the outfit to motivate their members and inspire people to join it through their speeches.
Being inspired with the speech of Maulana, a youth Sakib came to the Manik Mia Avenue to attack at the National Parliament recently.
Md Asaduzzaman, additional commissioner (CTTC) of the DMP, said that they were trying to arrest controversial Islamic orators, who are contributing to militancy
