Shana, Diya start preparation in Tokyo

Bangladesh archers - Ruman Shana and Diya Siddique started their final preparation for the 32nd Summer Olympics in Tokyo on Monday after completing their three-day quarantine.

The four-member archery team led by Bangladesh Archery Federation General Secretary and team leader Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal earlier reached Tokyo on Friday.

Shana and Diya will start their Olympic mission with the men’s and women’s singles ranking rounds on July 23 at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field.

A total of 18 members, including six athletes and 12 officials will represent Bangladesh in the Tokyo Olympics, scheduled to start on July 23.


The other four athletes are - shooter Abdullah Hel Baki, two swimmers -- Ariful Islam and Junaina Ahmed and runner Jahir Raihan.
