Tamim brushes aside fitness worries

Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal brushed aside all doubts about his fitness ahead of the ODI series opener against the hosts as he struck 66 off 62 balls during a practice match against Zimbabwe Select XI in Harare on Wednesday.

Mohammad Mithun (39 retd out), Shakib Al Hasan (37) and Mosaddek Hossain (36 retd out) all played handy knocks as Bangladesh scored 296-5 in their stipulated 50 overs after they elected to bat first.

Mosaddek, Mohammad Saifuddin and Ebadot Hossain then took two wickets as Bangladesh reduced the opposition for 189-7 in 40.1 overs till the report was filed.

The first of the three-match ODI series will take place on Friday in Harare.
