Dr SM Mostafa Kamal, former associate professor of Department of Cardiology at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), died of coronavirus at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday night.
Mostafa Kamal, 67, a student of batch 16 of the CMCH, breathed his last at 9:30pm.Chittagong Civil Surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi confirmed the matter to media.
Dr Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury, general secretary of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) in Chattogram said that Mostafa Kamal was admitted to different hospitals in Chattogram a month ago after contracting the virus.
Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Dhaka as his condition deteriorated, he said.
With the death of Mostafa, a total of 25 doctors died from Covid-19 infections in Chattogram so far, he said.
