3 killed in separate road crashes in city

Three people, including a vegetable trader, were killed in separate road accidents in capital’s Karwan Bazar, Sher-e BanglaNagar and Bhatara areas on Tuesday.

Saiful Islam, 50, a vegetable trader, son of Taib Ali, hailing from Kotwali Police Station of Kurigram, was killed after a speedy truck hit him while he was buying vegetables at Karwan Bazar area this morning.

Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead.

In Sher-e Banglanagar, Based, 32, hailing from Moksedpur upazila of Chapainawabganj, was killed after falling from a cattle truck in front of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital at 1:30am.

Later, Rejaul Karim, co-worker of the deceased, took the injured to the emergency department of DMCH where duty doctor declared him dead.

Beside in Bhatara, Rakibul Islam, 18, son of Rafique Matabbar, hailing from Solmaid area, was killed after a truck crushed his motorcycle on which he was riding to go to home at 12:45.

Akter Hossain, a relative of the deceased, rescued him and taken to the hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, also in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said the the bodies were kept at the hospital morgue for autopsies.
