15 more die of Covid-19 in 3 Khulna hospitals in 24 hours

Fifteen patients died while being treated at the Covid units of three Khulna hospitals in the last 24 hours till 8am on Sunday.

Of the deceased, seven patients died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), six at Gazi Medical College Hospital and two others at the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital.

Dr Suhas Ranjan Halder, resident medical officer of KMCH and and Gazi Mizanur Rahman , owner of Gazi Medical College Hospital, confirmed the matter.

The operation of RT-PCR lab at Khulna Medical College Hospital was suspended on Thursday due to contamination of coronavirus. The services were scheduled to resume on Saturday but it did not. The authorities are trying to resume the operation as soon as possible, said Khulna Medical College Principal Dr Mehedi Newaz.

On Saturday, a Covid unit was opened at Khulna's Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital where 24 patients have been admitted till this morning.
