Bangladesh on Sunday saw the highest-ever 119 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Earlier on 19 April, the country witnessed 112 deaths from the viral disease in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
In the last 24 hours, Bangladesh also recorded 5,268 cases of new infections, taking the total number of people infected to 888,406.
A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information on Sunday.
The release said some 3, 249 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 8,04,103.
A total of 24,628 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.
