Eighty-one more people died from coronavirus or Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours.

Besides, some 6,058 new cases of infection were recorded in the same period, taking the total number of people infected to 8,72,935.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has reached 13,868 and the death rate stands at 1.59 percent.

The latest information on Covid-19 situtaion was learnt from a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.

The current positivity rate is 19.93 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.56 percent.

In the last 24 hours,  a total of 30,391 samples were tested across the country.

During the period,  some  3,230 people  have recovered from the virus.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,94,783 while the recovery rate at 91.05 percent.
