A youth went missing after he fell in the Jhilpar canal in Dhaka's Khilgaon area on Tuesday morning.

The identity of the youth, aged around 21, could not be known immediately.

Abdul Mannan, stations officer of Khilgaon Fire Statio, said the incident took place when the youth was collecting discarded bottles from the canal around 9:30am.

On information, two units of fire fighters along divers rushed to the spot and were trying to rescue him, he said.
