UPL founder Mohiuddin Ahmed dies

The pioneer publisher and director of The University Press Limited (UPL) Mohiuddin Ahmed died early Tuesday. He was 77.

He breathed his last at 12:59am.

His daughter and the director of UPL, Mahrukh Mohiuddin, confirmed this on Facebook.

"He has been a brave survivor of Parkinson's disease for nearly 20 years, fought a strong battle with Covid and survived", the post added.

His namaaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan Azad mosque after Zuhr prayers on Tuesday.

He was born in 1944 at Parashuram in Feni. His father was a high-ranking officer in the British Indian Postal Service.
