A member of Chariswar union parishad was hacked to death by miscreants in Hatia upazila of Noakhali early Thursday.
The deceased was identified ad Robin Chandra Das, 48, son of Sotish Chandra Das.
He was the member of Ward No 3 of the union and a member of upazila Awami League.
The miscreants hacked Robin to death in front of the house of UP chairman Abdul Halim Azad at around 2:00am, Abul Khayer, officer in charge of Hatia police station, said.
