Bashundhara Kings forward Krishna Rani Sarker is determined to break her teammate Sabina Khatun’s 35-goal record this season after she scored a double hattrick during her team’s last Women’s Football League match.
“Sabina apu has scored many goals in the league. She is now the country's top scorer. I want to touch that milestone and then I will break her record,” said Krishna as her team Kings earned a massive 20-0 goals win over Nasrin Sporting Academy at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Krishna scored six goals in the 3rd, 12th, 53rd, 61st, 87th and 88th minutes while Sabina also netted six goals in the 28th, 30th, 33rd, 47th, 55th and 84th minutes.
“I have failed to score in the last three matches so I was determined and wanted to score in this game,” added the 20-year-old forward, who already reached the top slot this season scoring 17 goals.
Sabina had been suffering a goal drought from the beginning of the ongoing league but she finally regained her form by scoring a double hattrick.
The 27-year-old captain currently is ranked second with scoring 10 goals.
“I failed to give my best in the last few matches. My performance was poor. I was confident but there was some lack in my gameplay. Even I missed several very close chances to score,” said Sabina.
