Vitamin A-plus campaign across Bangladesh began on Saturday for the children aged between six months and 59 months, breaking a deadlock in government’s immunisation programme caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
Unlike other years, the instant campaign is not taking place in any mobile vaccination centres due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Social distancing and other health regulations are to be followed by vaccination staffs and guardians.The campaign will continue for two weeks during a period from 9am to 4pm daily.
Children aged between six to 12 months are getting blue capsules while those between one to five years red capsules.
The campaign is being run at EPI centres, permanent healthcare centres, community clinics and public healthcare centres.
National Nutrition Services (NSS) under the ministry of Health and Family Welfare is implementing the campaign as per the decision made in the meeting of the Steering Committee for Nutrition Implement on May 23.
