Bangladesh records 34 more Covid-19 deaths, 1,887 new cases

Bangladesh logged 34 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours till Friday 8:00am, taking the country's death toll to 12,758.

However, the fatality rate remained unchanged at 1.58%, according to the data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Meanwhile, 1,887 more people were infected with Covid-19 in the period, which took the case count to 807,867.

The current positivity rate is 10.40 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.42 percent.

A total of 18,151 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 1,723 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,47,758 and the recovery rate at 92.56 percent.

Among the 34 deceased, 20 were men and 14 women. Of them, one was under 10 years old, one was between 21-30, two between 31-40, five between 41-50, six between 51-60 and 19 were above 60 years old, added the release.
