Army chief leaves for Maldives

Chief of Army Staff (CAS) General Aziz Ahmed left Dhaka Tuesday on an official visit to Maldives at the invitation of Chief of Defence Force of Maldives Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

During the visit, Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed will lead a 9-member delegation of the Bangladesh Army. 

During the visit, he will visit the Maldives National Defense Forces Headquarters (MNDF Headquarters), various military installations and institutions.

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed will also hold courtesy meetings with Maldivian Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi, Chief of Defence Forces Major General Abdulla Shamaal and other senior military officials.

During the meeting, he will discuss further strengthening relations between the two countries' armies and mutual cooperation. 

During the visit, Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed will visit the Bangladesh High Commission in Maldives and pay a courtesy call on the High Commissioner and other senior officials. 

After the visit, the Chief of Army Staff will return to the country on June 7.
