Bangladesh confirms 38 more Covid-19 deaths, 1,043 new cases

Bangladesh logged 38 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours till Saturday 8:00am, taking the country's death toll 12,549.
However, the fatality rate remained unchanged at 1.57%, according to the data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, 1,043 more people were infected with Covid-19 in the period, which took the case count to 7,97,386.
In the preceding 24 hours, the positivity rate was recorded at 7.91% after testing 13,184 samples in 502 labs across the country.
Also, 1,187 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 92.48% recovery rate.
The country's maiden cases were reported on March 8 last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
