2 killed as microbus, auto-rickshaw collide in Mymensingh

Two people were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Nandail upazial of Mymensingh on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Khaleque, 70 and Shahab Uddin, 45, son of Babar Ali, hailing from Banshhati in the upazila.

Injured Mojibur Rahman, 35, is being treated at Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH).

Quoting locals, police said the microbus collided with the rickshaw carrying the victims coming from opposite direction on Athabari-Chowrasta road at 9:30am, leaving Khaleque dead on the spot and two others injured.

Later, locals took the injured to Nandail Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared Shahab dead.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nandail police station, confirmed the accident.
