Bangladesh confirmed 22 more deaths from Covid-19 while health authorities detected 1,292 new cases in the last 24 hours till Thursday 8 am.

With today's figures, the total death count reached 12,480 and total positive cases stand at 794,985.

The fatality rate was recorded at 1.57% during the period, said a media statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.

In the preceding 24 hours, the positivity rate was recorded at 8.12% after testing 15,915 samples in 497 labs across the country.

Among the latest day's victims, 14 were men, and eight were women. All the victims died in different hospitals across the country.

Also, 1,291 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 92.47% recovery rate.
