Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has started the construction activities of Opu Munshi Foundation Charitable Cancer Hospital in Rangpur.
The hospital is being built on 186.25 decimal of land.The commerce minister was dreaming of building a cancer hospital to provide cancer treatment to the people of the northern belt. Today his cherished dream is being realized through the Apu Munshi Memorial Trust.
While distributing clothes, food items and masks among the extremely poor people of Kaunia Upazila of his constituency Rangpur-4 today, the commerce minister said the country is moving forward at a fast pace under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The development of the country is now visible. The roads, educational institutions and religious institutions have been developed up to the remote areas of Kaunia upazila, he added.
He also said, “Like other countries of the world, corona virus has also hit our country. So, to protect ourselves from this disease we need to wear masks properly, maintain physical distance and follow hygiene rules strictly.”
Officials of Kaunia Upazila administration and local Awami League leaders and workers were with the commerce minister at the time.
