2 killed as three-wheeler plunges into pond in Naogaon

Two workers were killed and another was injured after a paddy-laden three-wheeler vehicle (locally known as Bhatbhati) plunged into a roadside pond at Chackdoulia village in Badalgachi upazila of Naogaon on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Majid, 28, son of Bhutto Mia, hailing from Bhabanpur village in the upazila and Liton Hossain, 36, son of late Dashir Uddin, from Kashimala village in the same upazila.

Quoting locals, police said the paddy-laden vehicle carrying the victims lost control and fell into the road side pond, leaving two passengers of the vehicle dead on the spot and its driver injured.

Atikul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Badalgachi police station, confirmed the matter.
