Four Post Office employees were arrested along with 2,355 pieces of Yaba pills at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday morning.
The identities of the arrestees could not be known yet."Aviation security scanner Sultan Mahmud identified Yaba-like objects while scanning a cargo bag of the post office around 7:20am at the hangar gate-8 of HSIA”.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul-Ahsan, executive director of the airport, confirmed the matter.
Upon receiving the news, Squadron Leader Ashekin, Squadron Leader Faria and ASP Anita went to the spot and arrested them on suspicion of their involvement in drug trading, he said.
They also seized 2,355 Yaba pills.
Later, the arrestees and the Yaba pills were handed over to a representative of the Department of Narcotics Control, he said.
