A man was killed and six others were injured when a truck hit a human hauler on Khulna-Jashore highway at Damodar in Phultala upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Rintu, 38, son of Matiar Rahman of Jashore district.

The accident occurred around 8:45 am when the Khulna-bound truck hit the human hauler, leaving seven people injured, said Mahtab Uddin, officer-in-charge of Phultala Police Station.

The injured were taken to a local hospital where doctors declared Rintu dead.
