Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man along gold bars weighing 1.63 kg from near Goyeshpur School premises in Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga district.

The arrestee is Israfil Hossain, 46, son of Doulat Hossain in the upazila.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-58 of  Maheshpur Battalion conducted a drive in the area on Sunday evening and arrested Israfil along with the gold bars, one motorbike and Tk 1,820 cash, said Nazrul Islam, assistant director of Maheshpur-58 BGB Battalion, reports UNB.

A case was filed in this connection.
