Bangladesh reported 50 more deaths from Covid-19 while health authorities detected 1,742 new cases in the last 24 hours till Wednesday 8 am.
With today's figures, the total death count reached 11,755 and total positive cases stand at 7,67,338.The fatality rate from the virus remains at 1.53%, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, the positivity rate further dropped to 8.59% from yesterday’s 8.71%, which is the lowest in 47 days. On 17 March the rate was recorded at 7.68% in a time span of 24 hours.
In the meantime, 20,284 samples were tested in 427 labs across the country in the last 24 hours.
Also, 3,433 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, with a 91.02% recovery rate.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year, before confirming the first death 10 days later.
