Ban on radical political forces demanded

Civil society members demanded ban on radical political groups like Jamaat-e-Islami and Hefazat-e-Islam for building the secular state in line with Liberation War.

Addressing a webinar on Monday, speakers also demanded for taking full control over the Qawmi madrasas across the country to uproot the communal forces.

Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee organised the meeting virtually marking the 92nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni connected to the session as chief guest while Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee President Shahriar Kabir  presided over the meeting organised by the civil society platform.

Dr Dipu Moni said,  "The ideology of Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam inspired us in all activism for building secular country pioneering the move demanding trial of war criminal."

Educationists Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal,  Prof Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury and  former DUCSU vice president Mahfuza Khanam, among others, spoke in the meeting.
