2 burnt to death in oil tanker fire in Patenga, 3 hurt

Two people died and three others sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at an oil tanker in Patenga of Chattogram on Thursday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The injured are identified as Abu Sufian, 47, Sahabuddin, 60 and Monir Hossen, 34. They are now undergoing treatment at burn unit of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Of them, two are in critical condition

Newton Dash, Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service, said the fire broke out at 7:00am.

On information, members of fire service and navy rushed to the spot ant took the fire under control around 9am.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
