Fire at a mosque in Old Dhaka

A fire incident took place on the top floor of the 5-storey Ata Mosque on Bangshal New Road in Old Dhaka on Sunday night. 

Being informed, four firefighting units rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control.

Fire Service control room got the fire news at 10:02pm and accordingly firefighting units rushed to the incident spot from the headquarters and began working.

Till filing of this report, the fire did not spread to other floors of the mosque.

Faisalur Rahman, senior station officer at the headquarters at Siddique Bazar, said there is no apprehension of spreading fire outside of the 4th floor.

Zone in-charge Bazlur Rashid said the fire was brought under control at 10:30pm.

Local people said there is no fear of being stuck inside by anyone.

No casulty was reported in the incident of fire.
