The ongoing countrywide lockdown has been extended for another week to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus as deaths and infections from the pathogen continue to rise.
Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification on this regard on Tuesday.The operations of international special flights and banking activities will continue while the other restrictions will remain in force till 28 April midnight.
Earlier on Monday, the government decided to enforce another spell of strict lockdown in the country from April 22.
The ongoing complete eight-day lockdown, which is scheduled to end on April 21, will now continue till April 28.
Earlier, the government enforced the ongoing complete lockdown from April 14 in view of the sharp rise in corona deaths and infections after a relaxed lockdown which started on April 5.
According to Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) more than one lakh people were infected with coronavirus till April 19 and deaths crossed 10000-mark. With the death of 112 new corona patients on Monday, the country witnessed over 100 deaths for the fourth time in a row.
