Top leaders of Hefazat-e Islam held a meeting with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at his residence in the capital's Dhanmondi area on Monday night.

The meeting started at 10.00pm and continued about one hour.

However, they did not say anything about the meeting to media.

A source said the meeting was attended by Hefazat Naibe Amir Maulana Ataullah Hafezi, Hefazat Secretary General Nurul Islam Jihadi, Qwami Madrasa Education Board (Befaq) Secretary General Mahfuzul Haque  and Mamunul Haque's brother Maulana Mahfuzul Haque, Principal Mizanur Rahman (Deonar Pir), home ministry officials and senior police officials.
