Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said the ongoing lockdown could be relaxed before Eid.

The government will relax the ongoing lockdown during Eid as people can visit their village home to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr, he said.

Urging everyone to be mentally prepared and patient, the minister said that they have decided to provide financial assistance to workers who became unemployed, including those in the transport sector.

Quader called upon the party leaders and activists to distribute relief among disadvantaged people.
