A student of Government & Politics Department of Jahangirnagar University died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan, was a second year student of the university.

He used to live at  Bisswa Kabi Rabindranath Tagore Hall in the university.

Nasreen Sultana, chairman of the department confirmed the news to media.

Nasreen Sultana said, "Mehedi was being taken to a local hospital in Jashore by a bicycle as he was feeling sick around 5:00am”.

But he died on the way to the hospital.
