President M Abdul Hamid on Friday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

In a condolence message, the head of the state prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved royal family.

Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II and a leading figure in the British royal family for almost eight decades, died on Friday at the age of 99.
