Dead whale washes ashore in Himchhari

A dead whale was washed ashore along Himchhari beach in Cox's Bazar on Friday.

Locals found the body of the giant mammal, around 44 feet long and 26 feet wide, near the Himchhari beach around 1:00pm.

Local people and tourists were gathering at the spot to see the dead whale.

Sameer Kumar Saha, a forest officer at the Cox's Bazar Sadar Range, said local foresters and Himchhari tourist spot managers had visited the spot.

The beach management committee will take necessary steps regarding the dead whale, he said.
