Bangladesh Army, Navy and UK Spl Force conduct joint exercise

A combined military exercise titled ‘Ex Thunder Fist-2021’ was held from March 21 to April 4 at Jalalabad Cantonment in Sylhet.

Para commandos of Bangladesh Army, SWADS of Bangladesh Navy and members of UK Special Forces participated in the exercise.

The exercise was organised marking golden jubilee of Bangladesh liberation war and birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, according to a press release issued by ISPR on Thursday.

The main objective of the two-week exercise was to exchange experiences and specialized knowledge on various topics of counter-terrorism, wartime medical assistance, counter-IED and hostage rescue.

A number of 26 Para commandos of Bangladesh Army, 10 SWADS members of Bangladesh Navy and 10 UK Special Force members joined the exercise.

The concluding ceremony of the combined military exercise was held on April 4.

School of Infantry and Tactics Commandant Maj Gen Chowdhury Mohammad Azizul Haque Hazary was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

Senior military officials of Sylhet region and army personnel of different ranks were present on the occasion.
