The government has instructed all to celebrate the upcoming Pahela Baishakh virtually.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday night signed by Deputy Secretary of cultural affairs ministry ASM Hasan Al Amin.

The government also requested the countrymen to avoid programmes that may lead to mass gathering.

The decision was taken in an inter-ministerial meeting on March 21 considering covid-19 situation in the country, the notice said.

"Mass-gathering is allowed under no circumstance," said the notice.
