Govt to continue administering Covid-19 vaccine during lockdown, Ramadan

The government will continue administering the doses of Covid-19 vaccine during the lockdown and Ramadan.

"Administering the second doses of Covid-19 vaccine will start from April 8 and the first dose will be continued at the same time. People will get SMS for second dose from April 5," Professor Meerjady Sabrina Flora, additional director general of Directorate General of Medical Services (DGHS), said in a release on Monday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the "Covid-19 Vaccine Preparedness and Deployment Core Committee" of DGHS, held yesterday.

From Tuesday, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd will start transporting Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to different district-level government storages as per the distribution list, the release said.
