Car bombing near Kabul kills at least three security personnel

Three security force members were killed in a car bomb attack in Paghman district west of the city of Kabul on Sunday evening, police said.

According to police, the explosive-laden vehicle was detonated near a military vehicle. At least 12 security force members were wounded in the explosion, police said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The explosion happened hours after a roadside bomb blast targeted an army vehicle in Paghman district on Sunday morning in which one security force member was killed and three more were wounded, according to police.

Kabul police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz confirmed the casualties in the western Paghman district of Kabul and said the numbers could rise.

The Taliban in a statement claim that 45 Afghan security force members had been killed or injured in the blast.

In February, the casualties were around 264 deaths and 278 injuries.
