BNP leader Shimul Biswas tests positive for coronavirus

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson’s adviser Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas has been infected with COVID-19.

"I have tested coronavirus positive. I urge the countrymen to pray for me," Shimul Biswas told the Daily Sun.

The BNP leader is in isolation at his home and taking treatment under a physician.

Meanwhile, a few leaders of the BNP including its Standing Committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain also were tested coronavirus positive and now undergoing treatment.

The BNP chairperson’s adviser Dr AKM Azizul Haque and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi were also tested positive.
