Bangladesh, India sign 5 MoUs to boost cooperation

Bangladesh and India have signed five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs):

*MoU on Field of Disaster Management, Resilience and Mitigation between National Disaster Management Authority, MHA, India and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Bangladesh  

*MoU between Bangladesh National Cadet Crops, People’s Republic of Bangladesh and National Cadet Crops, Republic of India

*MoU on Supply of ICT Equipment, Courseware and Reference Books and Training for Bangladesh-Bharat Digital Service and Employment Training Centre. Six BDSET Centers will be set up in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jashore and Natore

*MoU on Establishment of Sport Facilities at Rajshahi College Field and Surrounding Areas

*MoU on the establishment of framework cooperation in the area OF Trade Remedial Measures

Bangladesh and India have signed five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at a meeting led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Narendra Modi held the meeting with Sheikh Hasina at latter’s office at the fag end of his two-day Dhaka visit Saturday afternoon.

MoU on Field of Disaster Management, Resilience and Mitigation between National Disaster Management Authority, MHA, India and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Bangladesh;   and that between Bangladesh National Cadet Crops, People’s Republic of Bangladesh and National Cadet Crops, Republic of India have been signed.

Both sides entered into MoU on Supply of ICT Equipment, Courseware and Reference Books and Training for Bangladesh-Bharat Digital Service and Employment Training Centre. Under the deal, six BDSET Centers will be set up in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jashore and Natore.

A MoU has been signed for establishment of sport facilities at Rajshahi College Field and surrounding areas while other inked for establishment of framework cooperation in the area of trade remedial measures.

During the meeting, both leaders inaugurated several projects.

The projects are - renovated Kuthibari in Shilaidaha, Independence Road from Mujibnagar to Kolkata via Nadia of West Bengal, memorial tombs of 1971 Indian martyrs, trans-border passenger train on the Chilahati-Haldibari route, and two border haats.

India has gifted 109 ambulances and 12 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Bangladesh.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the keys of ambulances and Covid-19 vaccines to Sheikh Hasina.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival at her office at 5:00pm.

Later, an hour-long delegation level meeting of the two countries was held there.

Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina discussed the progress achieved in the areas of health, trade, connectivity, energy, development cooperation and many other issues.
