BNP postpones all programmes till March 30

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has postponed all programmes, including March 30 public rally that was scheduled to be held marking the golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh, due to coronavirus or Covid-19 situation of the country.

Addressing a press conference at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said “As a responsible political party, we have postponed our programmes till March 30 due to serious turn of Covid-19 in the country.”

He, however, said they will inform the next schedule of their programmes later after March 30.

“I think the government also should postpone all programmes at this moment and pay heed to coronavirus situation of the country,” the BNP leader added.
