Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Police Habibur Rahman has tested positive for coronavirus. He is currently receiving treatment at Rajarbag Police Hospital.

SP Emdadul Haque, admin and finance of the hospital confirmed the matter to the press on Wednesday noon.

He said Habib was admitted to hospital on Tuesday with Covid 19 infection. His physical condition remains stable.

Around 87 policemen have died from Covid-19 while on duty. More than 20,000 members of police have been infected so far.
