The Education Ministry is likely to extend the shutdown of all educational institutions till the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, amid growing trends of coronavirus infections in the country.

According to the Ministry of Education, the decision will be taken considering the safety of students. An announcement will be made soon.

Educational institutions have remained closed since March last year after the coronavirus pandemic unfolded in the country on March 8, 2020.

Earlier, the government has decided to open schools and colleges from March 30 but on that day holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed across the country and is a holyday.
