Renowned filmmaker Kazi Hayat, who has been tested positive for covid-19, was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in the capital on Sunday night.
The 74-year-old filmmaker is undergoing treatment at city's Popular Hospital.Confirming the news, actor Kazi Maruf, son of the Hayat, said, “Fourty percent of his lungs has been affected. His condition deteriorated on Sunday night”.
Maruf urged the countrymen to pray for his father’s quick recovery from the disease.
On March 11, the filmmaker Kazi Hayat and his wife Romisha Hayat tested positive for Covid-19 and they were self-isolated at their home on doctor’s advice.
Earlier, Kazi Hayat and his wife received first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on March 2.
Kazi Hayat began his career in 1979. He has recently acted in a film titled Tokai.
Hayat directed many fan-favourite films namely Danga , Traash , Chandabaj, Sipahi , Deshpremik, Luttaraj , Teji, Ammajan , Itihash , Kabuliwala , Chhinamul and others.
