President M Abdul Hamid on Monday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of veteran journalist and the Daily Janakantha editor Mohammad Atikullah Khan Masud.

In a message of condolence, the head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Atikullah Khan Masud died at Evercare Hospital in the capital this morning at the age of 71.

The veteran journalist had been suffering from breathing problem for long.
