Apu Biswas becomes Kabaddi Fed member

Country's celebrated film actress and model Apu Biswas elected an executive committee member of the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation without any contest. National Sports Council published a list of the 24-member elected committee including four vice-presidents, general secretary, two joint secretaries, treasurer and 16 members on Sunday.  

Director General of Rapid Action Battalion Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has already been appointed as the president of the federation.

However, the election was scheduled to be held on March 24. But the announcement was made on the final day of nomination withdrawal as all the candidates remained unopposed.

Abdus Salam Azad, Hafizur Rahman Khan, Shaheen Ahmed and Yeasir Ahmed Khan elected as vice-presidents, Deputy Inspector General of Police BKF Habibur Rahman as general secretary, Additional DIG Gazi Mozammel Hoque and SM Newaz Sohag as joint secretaries, Sharif Ahmed Arif Mihir as treasurer.
