Experts for increasing budget for differently-abled persons

Experts have urged the government to increase allocation for well-being of differently-able people to attain the sustainable development goals (SDGs) collectively.

Addressing a webinar, policy analysts also emphasised on implementation of Disabilities Protection Act-2013 for improving socio-economic life of the community.

LGRD Minister Md Tazul Islam was the chief guest while ADD International country director Md Shafiqul Islam presided over the session co-hosted by Kaler Kantho and ADD International.

Minister Tazul Islam assured the meeting of necessary steps in line with recommendations to ensure well-being of differently-abled people in next fiscal year.

National Foundation for Development of the Disabled Persons (NFDDP) Director Hamidul Haque, Swid Bangladesh President Jowaherul Islam Mamun, Sightsavers International country director Amrita Rozario spoke, among others, in the meeting conducted by Kaler Kantho deputy chief reporter Toufiq Maruf.
