World’s largest portrait of Bangabandhu in the crop field mosaic will inspire everyone with the ideals and spirit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque on Sunday.
Razzaque, also the chief adviser of implementing committee of the crop field mosaic, made this comment after visiting the portrait of Bangabandhu on Sunday at Balenda village of Bogura’s Sherpur upazila.“Bangabandhu gave importance to the development of agriculture for the reconstruction of the newly independent country, called the green revolution. We see the image of Bangabandhu in all lands and grain fields including every particle of the green land of this country,” he said.

“It's a wonderful work of art. Through this, all the people of the country will be able to see Bangabandhu in crop field mosaic either physically or through media or social media. I think, the present generation and the next generation will be inspired by the ideals and consciousness of Bangabandhu after watching it,” he said.
The portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman painted on a dark purple and green canvas with paddy in a crop land covering an area of 100 bighas.
The crop field mosaic, length of 400 metres and 300 metres width covering an area of 1,20,00 square metres or 1.292 million square feet, will be the world’s largest portrait on 100 bighas or over 20 acres of crop field canvas after China with an area of 855,786 square feet.
Shasyachitre Bangabandhu Jatiya Parishad and Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) arranged the programme.
