Bangladesh to play World Cup qualifiers in Qatar

Bangladesh will play their remaining matches of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 in Qatar.

Asian Football Confederation announced on Friday that all the remaining group stage matches of all eight groups will be held between May 31 to June 15 in centralised venues.

Bangladesh will play against Afghanistan on June 3 while they will take on India and Oman on June 7 and 15 respectively. The venues are yet to be confirmed.

Bangladesh were earlier scheduled to host Afghanistan on March 25 at the Sylhet District Stadium but the visitors preferred to play at a centralised venue due to their travel facilities.

The men in red and green will now tour Nepal to play a Tri-nation Tournament involving Kyrgyzstan U-23 team and the hosts, scheduled to be held on 23-29 at the Dashrath Stadium. The team is expected to fly to Kathmandu on March 18.

Bangladesh Football Federation will start a national team camp with 31 players of their upcoming Nepal tour on Sunday. Players and officials will undergo Covid-19 tests today before joining the camp.
